THE ELF OWL

Description
The Elf Owl’s eyesight is twice as good as ours. They have saucer shaped hollows called disks. These disks help them hear. They make sounds louder. The tufts are not ears at all. The Large eyes and pupils of Elf Owls are specially designed to let in extra light for seeing at night.

Habitat
The Elf Owls make their homes in tree holes. They are found in Mexico and South Western American desert regions.

Babies
The female owl looks for nesting spot long before it is time to lay her egg.

Food
An Elf Owl catches its food with its feet . Its eats all kinds of insects as well as mice, lizards ,and spiders.
