We are studying First Nations of British Columbia and the Inuit this year. We have learned about how important salmon was to the First Nation people of the West Coast. Zelda, a member of the Eagle clan taught us how to draw an eagle using ovoids. She spoke to us about the Eagle clan and we learned a great deal more than that from her that day. We have also made button blankets, cedar bracelets and learned to weave with Ms. Sheena and Ms. Manning. Bibi taught us string stories, Inuit games, and how to write Inuit style. We also made totem stones and wrote legends. Boy have we been busy!
